Jo is an engaging and established poet, writer, actress and more recently, an online movie reviewer. She has participated in development programmes, commissions, volunteering programmes within the community as a poet to allow more connection and rapport with audiences within the space - and as an active member of the African Caribbean community.

Jo’s past conventional work history includes clerk for Mandela Centre, Derby, waitressing, and secretary for the NHS – whilst DJing for a local community radio in the late 90’sand becoming the first female street team member for Sony Music (UK).

As a poet (and lyricist) she is using her creativity and artistry for uplifting further the community and just for the fun of it - for the therapeutic benefits are tenfold creating ripple es for a self-rediscovery and empowerment journey – dynamically in the city of Derby and beyond.
